HAM HeatFluxSense / HeatFlowSense

Two HAM devices are for heat measurements. The HAM HeatFluxSense measures heat flux. The HAM HeatFlowSense measures thermal power and energy in a water circuit.

Both are older versions. The serial number of the HeatFluxSense starts with 34:. The serial number of the HeatFlowSense starts with 38:.

What it measures

Liquid flow rate	L/min	Water flow.
Temperature (Hot)	°C	Temperature on the hot side of the circuit.
Temperature (Cold)	°C	Temperature on the cold side of the circuit.
General input 1, 2	open / closed	They show when you configure them.

Typical uses

• Heat flux measurements with a heat flux sensor and two temperatures (HeatFluxSense).
• Measurement of thermal energy in heating or hot water circuits (HeatFlowSense).

Settings

HAM HeatFluxSense

• ADC Reference and ADC Reading: settings for the measurement of the heat flux sensor.
• Calibration table (in Advanced): field correction for the temperatures and the ADC signal.

HAM HeatFlowSense

• Pulses per Litre: set it according to your water metering device.

Recommended rules

For the HeatFluxSense, the Recommended setups button suggests an alert for temperature out of range and an alert when the device stops sending data. See Your first alert.
