HAM ThermoSenseX1

HAM ThermoSenseX1

The HAM ThermoSenseX1 logs the temperature of one fridge or freezer and alerts you when it goes out of range. It is for food shops, restaurants, pharmacies and warehouses.

The serial number starts with e11:. The older version has a serial number that starts with 40:.

Reading Unit Note
Temperature °C From the probe on the cable.
General input 1, 2 open / closed For a magnetic door contact. Shows when you configure the input.
Input counter 1, 2 count Counts the changes of the input. Shows when it has counted something.

The app shows a general input as Gen. In. until you give it a name, for example “Fridge door”.

  • Fridges and freezers in kitchens, bars and supermarkets.
  • Cold rooms, with a door contact on the general input.
  • Medicine and vaccine fridges.
  • Temperature records for HACCP.

HAM loggers are used for HACCP temperature records. Each reading has a date and time and stays in your account. You can export reports for the inspection. A calibration certificate is available per device, as a separate line on the order.

  1. Put the white box outside the cold area. Attach it with double-sided tape.
  2. Put the probe through the door gasket or through a special opening. Ask your refrigeration technician about the opening.
  3. Put the probe at the point you want to monitor, for example in the middle of a shelf.
  4. Connect the 5 V micro-USB adapter that comes in the box.
  5. Connect the device to WiFi from the mobile app. Press and hold the setup button until the green LED blinks. See Connect to WiFi.

When the device is connected, the green LED stays on. See LED states.

Do not put the probe:

  • near the door, where it gets air when the door opens,
  • in front of the fan of the cooling unit,
  • against the walls or the products,
  • near the lamp.

For more, see physical installation.

  • The probe connects to terminals 3 (3.3 V, red), 4 (data, yellow) and 6 (GND, black).
  • The general inputs are terminals 7 and 8. Terminal 8 can become an alarm output.
  • To power the device without USB, connect 5-12 V DC to terminals 1 (+) and 2 (GND).
  • Calibration table (in Advanced): field correction of the temperature, up to 6 points. Press Calibrate to fill it in.
  • General input is alarm output: the last general input becomes an alarm output. A rule with the action Alarm output turns it on. With a relay module you can give a signal to an alarm system.
  • Alarm buzzer mode (e11 only): the device makes a sound when an alarm is active. It is on by default.

The general settings of all devices are in device settings.

The Recommended setups button on the device page suggests:

  • An alert when the temperature goes out of range.
  • An alert when the device stops sending data.

The offline alert also tells you about a power cut or an internet outage at the site.

See Your first alert and offline alerts.

  • The temperature is a few degrees off: check the position of the probe. See wrong values.
  • The door contact always shows open: the labels can be inverted, or the magnet is too far away.
  • Gaps in the chart: the device keeps readings while it has no connection and sends them later. After a power cut and a network outage together, a gap can stay. See chart gaps.
  • The device is offline: see device offline.
