Push, e-mail, SMS, call
A rule can alert you with a push alert on your phone, an e-mail, an SMS or a phone call. Push and e-mail are free. SMS and calls need a package.

You can put many channels in the same rule. For example: a push alert at once, and a call AFTER 15 minutes. See What a rule does: alert or command.
Push on your phone
Section titled “Push on your phone”The Notify me (App) action writes the alert to the app bell. If you are logged in to the HAM app on your phone, it also comes as a push alert. A web browser does not get push alerts. On a computer, you see the alert in the bell.
- Install the app. See The mobile app.
- Allow notifications when the phone asks.
- Stay logged in. When you tap Logout, the phone stops getting push alerts.
- On Android, rule alerts come in the Alerts channel. You can change its sound in the phone settings.

- Email me sends to the e-mail address of your account.
- Email other sends to a different address. The recipient must first confirm the address from the confirmation e-mail.
- The subject starts with
hamOS™ Alertand has the rule name. Give the rule a name that says what happened and where.
- An SMS reaches any mobile phone, without the app and without internet.
- The message has a maximum of 70 characters.
- Each SMS lowers the SMS balance of your account.
- When the balance gets low, the app tells you: Your SMS balance is running out!
- With a zero balance, the SMS is not sent. The bell shows Failed to send SMS due to non-positive SMS balance.
Phone call
Section titled “Phone call”- A voice reads the rule message. You select the language of the voice in the action.
- The message has a maximum of 70 characters.
- If you do not answer, HAM calls again. If you answer none of the calls, the bell shows You have missed a call.
- With a zero call balance, the call is not made. The bell shows Failed to make phonecall due to non-positive phonecall balance.

Alert limit
Section titled “Alert limit”The cloud limits how many messages one rule sends in a short time. This way, a sensor that changes all the time does not use up the whole SMS package. When the rule reaches the limit, the message goes out once with (Rate Limit Reached).
