HAM BLE Magnetic Contact
The HAM BLE Magnetic Contact alerts you when a door or a window opens or closes. It works on a battery and sends its state over Bluetooth, with no wires.
The serial number starts with b3:.
The older Mi Window Sensor has a serial number that starts with b2:.
How it connects
Section titled “How it connects”The contact has no internet connection of its own. It needs a HAM WiFi device with the BLE hub feature, or a GPS tracker, near it. That device hears the contact and sends its state to the app. The Heard by reading shows which device heard the contact last.
The shop sells the contact alone or together with a hub device.

The Mi Window Sensor (b2:) gives Gen. In. (open / closed), Luminosity (lux) and Battery Voltage.
The input shows when you give it a name.

Installation
Section titled “Installation”The contact has two parts:
- the large part, which goes on the fixed frame,
- the small part (the magnet), which goes on the leaf that opens.
- Write down the Device key from the back of the contact before you install it.
- Claim the contact to your account with the key. You do not need WiFi setup. See BLE devices.
- Install the two parts at the same height and on the same line.
- The distance between them must be less than 1 cm when the door is closed.
- Attach them with double-sided tape.
Put the contact no more than about two rooms away from the HAM device that reads it.
Settings
Section titled “Settings”- Show map: shows the contact position on a map.
- Include in summary views: the contact shows in the summary views.
- Device Description: text that shows as a subheading in reports.
The HAM Thermostat and the HAM RemoteAC can monitor BLE magnetic contacts. With this, they turn off the air conditioner or the heating when a door or a window opens.
There are no ready recommended rules for this device. A usual rule sends an alert when the Magnet becomes open. See create a rule.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”- The app shows the device offline: make sure that
- the HAM device that hears it is online,
- the device is near that HAM device,
- its battery is not low.
- The state does not change: make sure that the two parts are less than 1 cm apart and on the same line.
- The app shows Tampered: press the large part against the surface so that the switch on its back is pressed.
